KSI DID A MADNESS

It’s hard to believe that a man once known for his FIFA and low-budget-comedy content is now a regular on the UK Top 100 charts. Ever since his boxing victory against fellow YouTuber Logan Paul, KSI has simply reached a new level of celebrity. His latest project, All Over The Place, is a fine representation of this. While features that include 21 Savage, Future, Anne-Marie, and Polo G were most likely sponsored by his projected 35 million dollar net worth, I believe that this was money well-spent. Critics must remind themselves that KSI’s musical journey is one that has outrageously poor beginnings. His flagship hit, “Lamborghini,” which managed to chart #36 on the UK Top 100, was and still is a terrible song. I’m glad that the artist's most recent efforts paint a different picture.

That all being said, honestly is warranted here. Does All Over The Place blow me away? Absolutely not — This was not something that I would listen to on the regular. Many argue that KSI is only as good as his features, and I couldn’t agree more. On All Over The Place especially, hooks sung by Anne-Marie, Ella Henderson, and Craig David 100 percent take the driver's seat. “Holiday” is a respectable track considering the work that KSI has put into his vocals as of late, but the other solo excursions off the project are confusing and unkind to his repertoire. My favorite track has to be “Number 2” – verses from 21 Savage and Future were strong this time around. As a long-time fan, I am incredibly proud of JJ for his progression and the dedication he’s shown. I think that it’s hard for any influencer to take on what he has, and in my mind, this is a step up.
