The outgoing, fun-loving members of Juke of June bring a refreshing sound to the music scene. Coming from different backgrounds and upbringings, each band member brings their unique perspective to the table. This has created the singular sound that is Juke of June. Over the span of their young career, the 6-piece band has released an EP, Valeria, along with a set of three singles. The group struck gold with their song, “Close My Eyes”, earlier this year. The pop/rock ballad earned them over 56 thousand Spotify plays and a growing following. 2020 is set to bring even greater success for the Juke of June, who plan on releasing more music in the fall and beyond. We recently spoke to the band about their origins, favorite non-music activities, and more!

How did you start making music?

Jackson Hahn (Vocals) and Jackson Kilburn (Guitar) met around their freshman year of college, who later met Ben Ballard (Guitar) and Zach McCoy (Drums). The four hit it off and had similar goals and ambitions for a musical career and started from there. Later on we were fortunate enough to meet Bradley Crow (Piano) and Emily McCreight (Bass), who fit seamlessly and helped create the sound the Band was trying to achieve. The band writes in many different and collective ways. Some ideas are brought forward by individuals while other ideas are created by jamming/co-writes within the band. Typically there is a main idea that is then developed by the band as a unit.

It’s your day off: How are y'all spending it?

Snuggling, building a gingerbread community, eating a whole roll of cookie dough, and skydiving... but in all honesty, just hanging out together as a group.

Who’s your choice for a dream collab?

Juke of June would love to Collab with either The Nude Party, or Okey Dokey. As well as Post Malone.

What are the best things about being a band?

The best part of being in a band is being able to see what new ideas everyone can bring to the table for each song. Each practice seems to lead to something new that pushes a song forward. It's great to make music with friends that push you to make something better. Along with having a strong support system to help you through everyday life.

“Mable” caught our eye. What was the inspiration for the song?

Mable came about through a jam session that we really enjoyed, we took the musical elements and applied lyrics. The lyrics are about how someone can lie and get in their own way in a relationship. We wanted that feel good, inclusive, energetic vibe. While showcasing different members of the band.

Describe you music in 3 words.

Diverse, Distinct, Dynamic

Any future projects for fans to get excited about?

We have a single called "Turn Around" coming out this fall, along with other singles around the corner!
