Chun wears multiple hats; along with a budding music career, the artist is currently attending NYU. He emphasizes the importance of time management within his life as both a student and a musician. His latest release, “BBT”, is a clear sign of better things to come. We recently spoke to the up and comer about his love of music, his musical inspirations, and more!

How did you start making music?

I started making music when I was around 10 playing the saxophone. One day, I realized I could sing too through a social studies project where I had to remix a pop song to be about Mesopotamia and perform it in front of class. Ever since then I started making beats, recording myself, and even made a band!

When you’re not writing music, what can fans find you doing?

When I’m not writing music, I’m usually out with friends or just playing basketball.

How do you balance your music career with being a student?

I balance my career with being a student by sectioning off time for my passions and then time for the various assignments I have to do. It’s just time management, but there’s always room for improvement and I think I can do better.

Who’s someone that inspires you?

My brother inspires me. He’s so mature and he always makes sure that those around him are good before himself. I’ve really grown to respect that about people, their selflessness. So I’ve been trying to emulate that selflessness in myself. He also always supports my endeavors no matter what. It just feels nice.

From where do you draw inspiration for your songs?

I draw my inspiration from just things that happen in my life, mostly about my romantic relationships but I’ve been trying to branch out more!

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would you pick?

Definitely J Cole, he’s been my fave rapper for so long!

What’s next for you?

I have a couple more singles coming out! Stay tuned!
