Treasure

Treasure is a UK-based musician with a load of talent and accurate name to match. His debut single,“Take a Chance on Me”, which is a wonderful introduction to his extensive catalogue of music. Last year, he released his most successful song, “Feelings” (with Maggy Lee), which currently has over 900K Spotify streams. In addition, he’s released two albums over the last two years, 2019’s Treasure and 2020’s Suffocation and Air, both of which were very popular amongst his fans. Since being featured on Spotify’s Chill Vibes and Alternative R&B playlists, he’s amassed a following of over 84K monthly listeners. This fanbase is incredibly diverse, with listeners coming from Taiwan, Australia, and Los Angeles. We recently spoke with Treasure about the last song he listened to, his experience in quarantine, and more!

How did you start making music?

In a metalcore band in 2009.

What was the last song you listened to?

“Bittersweet” by Lianne La Havas.

You have a day off; Where are you going?

Deep in the countryside, surrounded by nature.

“Feelings” was a hit. What was the inspiration for the song?

I just made the beat on a whim, I then sent a pack of instrumentals to Maggy Lee, and the rest is history.

What has been the hardest part of the quarantine for you?

The monotony and negativity.....

What does Treasure do in his free time?

Read, cycle, run and sleep. I love living simply. 

What’s next for Treasure?

Well, I’m releasing a new song called “Isolation” on the 19th of August. Other than that, I’m chilling offline.
