Bella Poarch
WIMITLA. SONG REVIEW
By Kenneth Tse
“Build a Bitch” is the best song to come from any influencer and it’s not even close. Bella Poarch, the artist/entertainer best known for her wildly popular TikTok account, has stunned with her distinct ability to carry a tune. And no, this is nothing like the sad emo rock that we’ve heard over the course of this past year. Think Melanie Martinez, Marshmello, and “Mad at Disney” all mixed into one – every ingredient needed to create an infectious viral hit. Before the single was even released, the 15-second sound of the song had been used on TikTok more than 250k times.
With that said, this music video was built to break the internet. Cameos from personalities such as Valkyrae, LARRAY, and Bretman Rock will easily make this one of the biggest songs of the year. Huge props should go to Directors Andrew Donoho and Sub Urban, who clearly made sure that the content of the video was as explosive as the song itself.
Poarch’s singing, songwriting, and acting are all there, which leads me to consider her an incredibly unrated talent. The term “anything is possible '' has never been more true as of late; she picks up the torch in a growing dual artist/influencer industry. This was a stellar debut from the influencer. She demolished this song and that whole a** Build A Bitch factory with the help of Mia Khalifa (who I think might be a Youtuber?) 8.2/10
