“if we lived on the moon” begins a new chapter for vivi rincon, the Texas-based artist who is soaring towards the stars, alongside her latest release. Perhaps a perfect medium between Sara Bareilles and Gracie Abrams, vivi’s songwriting provides an exceptional level of maturity that stands out amongst the majority of her viral contemporaries. Dreamy, soul-filled melodies capture both a sense of calm and perpetual longing for any listener. The striking simplicity of the song – mainly the artist’s vocal harmonies along with her acoustic guitar – also speaks volumes, perfectly conveying the unjudgmental ambiance that most likely comes with “living on the moon.”

I am personally a huge fan of the hook, where vivi proclaims: “All that I know is I want you forever, and nothing like this could be wrong, if people on earth think that they know us better than we do, then I’ll live on the moon with you.” Just wow. This is simply a fantastic song, and if the content on her TikTok page (@fakelupe) tells us anything, it’s that there are many more fantastic songs to come.
