Nicki vs. Cardi? Please – the conversation is over. After falling flat with 2018’s Queen, Minaj has just performed one of the great musical comebacks of all time. Sure, her recent KAROL G collab is a decent summer jam. But this right here is something special. A Young Money reunion with Drake and Lil Wayne was destined to cause a ruckus across the industry scene, and that it has; “Seeing Green” is currently trending #1 on YouTube’s Music charts with over 5 million views and over 300k likes. This is far cry from just a couple of years ago when some rap fans proclaimed the singer was nearing a plateau to her legendary career.

The sampling of Heather Headley's "In My Mind" is spectacular here; it’s deep cut for most non-r&b listeners, so I’m glad to see it having some much-deserved time in the mainstream. I don’t use these words lightly either, as I can promise you that much of the artist’s catalog, especially her recent output, hasn’t been my cup of tea. This was a return to all things great about Nicki Minaj AND Young Money, as both flow and lyrics are incredibly on point. To no surprise, Drake and Wayne kill their verses as well. Yes, industry sound is changing, but songs like this bring us back to a simpler time. I have a firm belief the track marks at least a couple more years of success for the artist. Greatness. 8.4/10
