Anthony Villegas says that he hopes to “continue to try and grow and make a real name for myself in the world.” Well, he’s off to a great start. The influencer currently has over 2.2 million social media followers and nearly 60 million TikTok likes. He originally started like many on the app, making videos for fun and often out of boredom. After his early content went viral, however, his social media career took flight. Videos of him responding to comments have become incredibly popular on the app, gaining hundreds of thousands of likes and earning Anthony a verified account. We spoke to him about his favorite videos, the pandemic, and more! 

Tell us a little bit about yourself. How did you get started making TikToks?

My name is Anthony Villegas and I’m known on social media for the name of antstorm123. I started TikTok in the summer of 2019 because I was bored and wanted to make videos of my friends and I messing around.

What has been the most rewarding part of your social media career?

The most rewarding part of my social media career is being able to have an audience that watches me and appreciates what I do. It’s the best feeling ever having fans and a whole bunch of people that care about you. 

How has the pandemic affected your ability to make content?

The pandemic surprisingly helped my content a lot. I had a lot more free time and was able to film videos everyday and get more things done. 

Which one of your recent videos was your favorite to make and why?

My favorite video to make was probably when I drove my car in reverse through a drive through. 

Do you feel pressure to make content?

When I first started TikTok, I posted whenever I wanted and didn’t care. Once I began to get an audience, it made me try harder and it pressured me into posting everyday and making as much content as possible. But now I’m glad to say that I post out of love and fun. I don’t feel pressured at all to post anymore, and it’s the best feeling ever. 

If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?

If I was a superhero, I would like to read people’s minds so I can know what they’re thinking about me.

One of my secret talents is being able to tell when someone is lying. 

What can we catch you doing on your day off?

You will catch me hanging out with my friends.

I’m definitely choosing to hang out and collab with the Sway boys.
