The Hunna

The Hunna

Alternative rock group The Hunna are just four guys living out the rock’n’ roll dream. Hailing from the United Kingdom, the group has racked up over 200 million streams on Spotify alone. In 2016, they released their debut album 100, which quickly rose to the top of UK charts. Since then, The Hunna have been tearing up the modern rock scene. Their track “She’s Casual” is a favorite among fans, as shown by its nearly 45 million streams. This along with hits such as “Bonfire” and “Babe Can I Call” are wonderful examples of the band’s signature sound. Their latest single, “I Wanna Know”, was released on July 10th. We recently sat down with the group to discuss their upcoming album, I'd Rather Die Than Let You In, their favorite performances, and much more!

Every band has an origin story. How did the band get together?

Ryan (Vocalist) & I (Dan, Lead Guitarist) met when we were 16 years old when we were studying Music Practice at West Herts College. We decided to start a band because it was something both of us always wanted to do. Jack (Drummer) was a few years older than us and studied the same course. We asked him to come down to our rehearsal room and try out. After that first rehearsal, we all instantly knew that he was our dude. He joined and the rest is history.

Growing up, who would you say have been your greatest musical influences?

Kings of Leon, The 1975, AC/DC, Deftones, MCR and many many more.

What's your favourite performance that you've done this far?

We would have to say Reading Festival - Main Stage. It was a dream of ours to play.

Your upcoming album "I'd Rather Die Than Let You In" is set to release in October, what was the most difficult song to write off the new album?

Cover You (Ft. Travis Barker) proved to be fairly difficult from time to time to write/record. We knew it had something special so we focused real hard on getting it right. It took some time but we got there eventually.

Off your upcoming album, which song are you most excited for your fans to hear?

Honestly we’re excited for fans to hear everything on this record. We’ve made a bold move by modifying our sound and we’re really excited for fans to hear that.

The band has a day off. Where are y’all going?

We always just smoke a shit load of weed and hit up the cinema to watch a new release. Classic Hunna way.

What are you looking forward to most once the world returns to "normalcy"?

Playing live shows again. Thats what we do best and that’s all we know. Hurry up 2021!
