How did you start making music
I started making music seriously after finding myself & simultaneously leaving a toxic relationship. I always knew since I was young that I wanted to do music but I never had the guts until this experience. I found that I felt most fulfilled when I heard my written/freestyled music back and it help me see clearly what my purpose was and sometimes it takes a tough situation to Break out of toxic cycles and blossom.
How do you unwind after a long day’s work?
After a long day of work I like to unwind by taking a hot long shower doing my facial regimen moisturizing my body and just feeling like I am floating while some Afrobeats play in the background lol. it feels good sometimes just to be present and nourish your body with what it needs, I enjoy self-care.
Describe your music in just 3 words.
Healing, melodic, unique
We loved your song "Jacuzzi". What inspired you to make the song?
Honestly that song was made very quickly with the producer NumbyouNov that I am now working with, but the day we made the song was the first time we actually met and it was made within minutes to be honest. The vibe was there and it was immediately felt. The overall concept of this song was inspired by not only the architect in the room but also just having a fantasy about what I would want out of a romance scene which could be as simple as just inviting your crush over to hang with you in the Jacuzzi. And it could be also metaphoric because things can get hot and steamy when chemistry is right in front of you. The chemistry was potent that day.
Where is your go-to location when it's time to write? Why?
When it’s time for me to tap into music I typically just go to my room. It’s a safe space for me to explore my imagination and just be secluded from anyone or anything else and go inside. I have a studio also set up in my room so hearing the production and pressing record is usually my method just to see what comes out of me in that initial moment.
Who’s in your dream collab?
My dream Collab would have to be Kendrick Lamar. He’s the first person that comes to mind, I have many more like Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, and Janelle Monáe but we can start with him because of the inspiration I gained from his music during an important phase of my life.
Any future projects for fans to get excited about?
Yes actually I am looking forward to releasing a lot more music for the rest of 2020. I know that these new sounds are going to hit people over the head so I’m excited to see how the traction and feedback is but definitely look out for an EP & more single releases and visual experience is to really tap into the music thank you so much for having me.
