Lordnox
Pasquale Calabria, known professionally as “Lordnox,” is on his way to be house music’s next big name. The artist first began producing after listening to the sounds of David Guetta, Avicii, and Swedish House Mafia. And following his 2019 debut, the DJ/producer has already produced 7 singles, as well as 2 remixes of his song “Hate You,” and his first single, “Rum and Cola,” debuting last year. With a signature beat-centric electro-pop sound, the Moliterno, Italy native has racked up nearly 2.8 million Spotify streams. And, his most popular single (“Loved By You”), which was released in April of this year, even had its tenure as a popular song on the video platform TikTok. With the July 24th release of “Memories,” Calabria proves he’s far from slowing down. We recently spoke with the 19-year-old up and comer about how he got his start, what the future holds, and more!
How did you start making music?
I took piano lessons when I was 9, but quit after playing a bad performance on stage at the end-of-year concert at my school; I cried a lot. At 12, I joined the world of electronic music with songs by David Guetta and Avicii. Only a year later, after listening to '' Don't you Worry Child '' by Swedish House Mafia, I said to myself: '' I want make this kind of music. '' So I downloaded FL Studio and started producing. I remember starting at least three tracks a day, and changing my artist name every day. Only in 2017 did I definitively change my name to Lordnox. Good old days.
Who’s your partner in a dream collab?
There are many famous artists I would like to collaborate with: for example, Oliver Heldens or Don Diablo. My dream collab is with Axwell, definitely. I admire him, as he always makes fantastic songs. I have seen him play live many times here in Italy, and I had goosebumps every time. For me, he's like the ''Lionel Messi'' of electronic music.
Which was your favorite song to make and why?
I think “Rum & Cola”. I created it in one night, after returning from a party. All my friends were drinking Rum and Cola (I hate this drink) , so I decided to write some nonsense verse. Then I created a very simple instrumental using a bass, a synth, and some percussion. I really liked the final result and decided to make a music video. We had a party and we were shooting everything with the go pro. We had great fun!
It’s your day off; Where are you going?
I really like sports, especially soccer and volleyball. I have been playing volleyball since I was 8 years old, and it is one of the things that I will remember with great pleasure in the future. It has allowed me to travel a lot. In terms of football, I am a big fan of A.C. Milan, never miss a game.

Power, colors, freedom.
What was the last song you listened to?
''Creep'' by Radiohead. I'm open to all genres, but I love rock music most of all (after electronic music).
Any future projects for fans to get excited about?
A lot of music. I have already signed with three labels and will release one song a month until the end of 2020. My new song "Memories" with Junerule, also a talented producer, is out now! In August, a song in collaboration with my Swedish friend Manda, an amazing singer, with whom I have already collaborated on "Loved By You". From September to December, I have other releases with artists such as Madamarye, Fuckgize, John Thacker and others. I hope for an EP/Album next year.
