How did you start making music?
My uncle was a rapper and my aunt was a singer on two different sides of my family. It was their influence that helped me pick up the pen and start writing eventually. I looked for their guidance in the industry to really take it seriously. My uncle was from New York and he showed me the roots of hip hop being as he was a political rapper. He tried to instill substance and culture into me. My aunt was a backup singer for major latin artist Don Omar later in my career. Her guidance really set me apart from others around me who did not know the music business very well.
From where do you draw inspiration for your songs?
I draw inspiration from experiences and from other successful characters in my field. Something about seeing someone succeed motivates me to go harder for myself if they can do it. Why not me? I draw to write off emotions, so experiences of the particular day take a toll on what I write and what I'm trying to project.
You recently released your album: Omen. Which song off your latest album was your favorite to write?
It would have to be between '' FOOD '' and ''everywhere i go''. At the time I was writing these records, I was having a fall out with people around me: friends and business partners. I was going through a lot of turmoil and the songs were more of a foreshadowing of what I was feeling.
How do you overcome writer's block?
I try not to force music out. I can always write something just not always going to be good at the point where I feel that I am not getting across how I'm feeling. I try to listen to other artists for inspiration right now. I'm heavy into Griselda Records.
What’s something you love to do in your spare time?
I like nature a lot. I grew up in Puerto Rico so I enjoy being outside, skateboarding, playing baseball, sports with my friends, or just being there for my family.
What was the last song you listened to?
The last song i listened to was “Gangsta Party”.
Who’s someone you’d love to write a song with?
Joey BADASS + RUSS + J Cole + J.I.D and the whole Griselda camp.
What are you planning for the future?
I plan on handling my business as a man, take care of my family and search for my final form, continue to do what I love, and enjoy my blessed life.
