Hoosh
“you know me”
WIMITLA. SONG REVIEW
By Kenneth Tse
There’s always one song that well-represents the growth of an artist, and “you know me” does just that. Here, Hoosh allows his vocals to be the star of the show, and in doing so, once again proves his musical versatility. The new release reveals a vulnerable side to the artist, exuding raw emotions, honesty, and remorse. Hoosh is never one to fall flat on lyrical innovation and lets these feelings drive the track: “I love you but I run to my hate when it sparks. I hate when it’s dark, I’m tearing apart the only moments and people I can’t leave behind.”
The choice to go acoustic seems fitting given the song’s meaning, and I especially enjoy the use of strings at the very end. Hoosh’s recent stylistic changes have been successful as of late – I feel that “you know me” is a wonderful follow-up to its predecessor, “Nights.” I’m excited to see what he has planned for the rest of his upcoming EP. 8.3/10
