Before there was Devin, there was Anne. A POV connoisseur, the TikToker made her debut in December of 2018 lip syncing to an audio of Emma Chamberlain discussing cake. Fast forward to August 2020, and Jannette is closing in on a whopping half a million followers. The TikTok star’s POVs are so successful because they’re delivered in a unique, TV format: segmented, that is, enticing fans to follow her in order to continue their binge. Upon gradually transitioning into this niche, the content creator has raked up over 22.6 million likes on her videos, as well as a spot on the iconic website Famous Birthdays. What’s even more impressive, however, is that all of this comes before her 19th birthday. We recently spoke to Anne about some of her favorite past POVs, what she had in mind when joining TikTok, and more!

Tell us a little about yourself.

My name is Anne Jannette and I am 18 years old. I am passionate about acting and of course, being a positive role model. When I was in high school I took part in three of my high school stage plays and competed as an International Competitor through Business Competitions. I am goal driven and as well as a community oriented person. I raised over $10,000 for my local women’s shelter (Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter) in support of the Me Too Movement. 

Did you have any specific plans or ideas when you joined TikTok?

I mostly did it for fun.

Which of your videos was your favorite to create?

My favorite POV I made was my Scar Soulmate Series. It was my first ever original idea to ever take off and I loved telling that story.

Which TikToker are you choosing in a dream collab?

I would love to collab with James Charles, Devin Caherly, or Tyler Brash.

What are some of your favorite types of TikToks to watch?

I love watching POVs and baking TikToks.

What was your reaction as your account grew more and more popular? Did you expect your content to gain such positive attention?

I never expected my account to grow this much. I have had TikTok since 2018 and I only recently started growing a following. I am super grateful for every single of my supporters and I hope to meet them one day.

What was the last song you listened to?

“Material Girl” by Madonna.

Would you be open to starting a career in social media off your TikTok success?

Yes, I have already partnered with various brands and working to build my Influencer career.
