Audra Johnson

Audra Johsnon

TikToker Audra Johnson (audra.johnson) has some of the most unique content you’ll find on the app. The entertainer downloaded TikTok last year, but only started making her signature POV videos and building her fanbase in February. In just half a year, Johnson’s notoriety has grown exponentially. Her videos draw you in by using the app’s popular sounds, songs, and voiceovers to create interesting skits and unique scenarios. She often uses the suspense factor in these dramatic performances, a type of niche content that has earned her over 750K followers and nearly 36 million likes. And with Johnson’s newly devoted fanbase, they are numbers that are sure to keep on climbing. We recently spoke with Audra about her dream TikTok collab, a possible career path in social media, and more!

Did you have any specific plans or ideas when you joined TikTok?

I first downloaded TikTok in September, and it started off as a bit of a joke. I wanted to make funny videos like I saw in YouTube compilations, Instagram, and Twitter. I didn't have a set plan, other than to hopefully get one video to go viral.

What do you like to do when you aren’t making content?

When I'm not making content I practice my guitar, which I've been playing for 5 years, I take classical voice lessons, browse the internet, and think of what I can do next for my page.

What was the last song you listened to?

The last song I listened to was "Go All The Way" by the Raspberries. I love 70s/80s music, and tend to listen to it more than the Billboard 100.

It's your day off. Where are you going?

On my day off I'm definitely at the beach with some friends, but since I don't actually live by the ocean, it's a lake with a pretty nice sandy coast.

Who’s your TikTok partner in a dream collab?

When I first started making POVs, TikTokers like @xobrooklynne, @emmanortss, and @avani have been who I looked up to a lot. Recently, I've become pretty good friends with Brooklynne, and we've collabed on a few projects together which totally unleashed my inner fangirl. My absolute dream collab though would have to be with either Loren Gray or Alex French.

What’s your favorite trend?

My favorite trend is definitely the alternative makeup looks that are circling around right now. I'm not a makeup artist at all, but it's so fun to play with different eyeshadows and bold eyeliner I'd normally never wear in my day to day life.

Have you ever thought about expanding your content to outside of TikTok?

With the whole debate of whether or not TikTok will be banned in the U.S, it's made me think about expanding to YouTube for sure. I've been wondering whether or not I should start one for a while, but I feel if I try to do that, grow my TikTok, my Instagram, and focus on regular daily things like school or a part-time job before I go off to college, as well as other extracurriculars and spending time with my family, I'd wear myself out. For now, I want to make sure I'm able to give my audience the best content I can.
