How did you get started making music?
I have always been surrounded by music. My mom’s ex-husband has always been in my life, and has been a father figure to me. He introduced me to music at a very young age. I remember being young and jamming on his piano and drums. He had a full studio in his house, it was awesome. Hip-Hop was the music that I gravitated towards the most though. I remember hearing “Still D.R.E.” for the first time, changed my life. I was just constantly listening to Hip-Hop and loved the story telling element of it. I wanted to start writing and telling my story.
Any dream collabs?
Oh yes. Drake, Logic, and Mac Demarco come to mind. Drake’s a legend. Logic is the man. I love Mac Demarco’s music and would love to do something with him.
A dream venue?
Tabernacle in Atlanta and Red Rocks. I’ve been to so many concerts at the Tabernacle, I would love to be the one on stage eventually. Red Rocks is one of the coolest venues that I’ve seen through videos. I want to go there one day.
What was the last song you listened to?
“Little Red Corvette” by Prince. Prince is my favorite artist of all time. He’s a genius, man.
Walk us through making “I Hate That..”
Promoting Sounds hit me up about rapping the verses on the record. He sent me the beat with the hook already on it and I loved it. The lyrics just poured out of me. I didn’t think it would blow up as much as it did. Super grateful for the opportunity.
Favorite non-music activities?
I love playing video games. I’m pretty much a huge nerd. I also like watching football and watching scary movies. I don’t know why, but i love scary movies. My favorite is Halloween (the original).
Any future projects for fans to look forward to?
I’m rolling out an album called, Off The Chain. It is seriously my best music to date. There is no release date, because I'm releasing every song on the album as a single. So, just follow me on social media to keep up to date with the singles!
