Proves She’s One To Watch With Comeback Single “Somethin’ About You”

Sabrina Lee is back! You may remember her from her July 2020 interview with us, back when she was fresh off the success of her single, “Hurt.” Well, the last year and change have treated the artist kindly, and she just released her comeback single “Somethin’ About You.”

A beautifully written testament to the one person you just can’t quit, Lee’s new single is a testament to not only young love but the perpetually improving quality of her music. What sticks out to me in regards to “Somethin’ About You” is its duality. You can turn on the song to mindlessly listen to music, allowing yourself to be swept away by the simply pristine vocals, a hypnotizing beat, and a lofi sound in the chords. At the same time, the song provides a candid, telling narrative for those who are willing to read between the lyrics. 

The song is easily a pop radio staple, and its relatability (we all have someone we know we can’t “go without”) only aids in its impending, hopeful commercial success. Sabrina’s sound has most definitely reached a certain high – It’s been a pleasure to watch her hone her skills as a young, impassioned artist, and I personally can’t wait to see what comes next.
