Chelsea Cutler & Quinn XCII
By Alix Negrin
After working for some years in the live music world, a good-quality show always hits different. Thanks to Universal Music Group’s °1824 team, I was able to see Chelsea Cutler and Quinn XCII perform live at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre last week – and it’s safe to say that this show was amazing.
3Breezy
By Eli Goodwin
“Uplifting, motivational, encouraging.” That was 3Breezy’s response when I asked him to describe his music in three words. And personally, I can’t agree more. Just listen to his newest single, “Self Love,” which I had the privilege of hearing at a press conference for the artist held by Universal Music Group’s internal creative solutions team, °1824.
Valley
By Kenneth Tse
Seven years and a half years after their formation, Toronto’s Valley remains a go-to example of what it means to put out perfect pop music. The four-piece band reached a new milestone early last week after releasing their latest album, Last Birthday. The project is their most unique and diverse to date, with its tracklisting being the culmination of songwriting past and present. It’s an unconventional approach for an unconventional group and one that has paid off well. I asked Valley about this and more via a press conference hosted by Universal Music Group’s internal creative solutions team, °1824.
The Greeting Committee:
By Bailey Meyers
On Friday, The Greeting Committee released their sophomore album, Dandelion. Taking a journey from heartbreak and internal turmoil, through grief, to self-assurance and acceptance, the album wraps the listener in waves of nostalgia that wash the world in sepia tones. Dandelion has an intimate quality; something not just discernable by lyrics but also as a result of the slight imperfections in its home-recorded instrumentals. Standout track, “Ada,” an ode to the experience of a trans woman, cuts deep while exalting the community of The Greeting Committee.
